Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a leading cause of premature death and disability due to the consequences of stroke, myocardial infarction and heart failure. The NHS Long Term Plan outlined an ambition to support the prevention of 150,000 heart attacks, strokes and dementia cases, making CVD the largest area where the NHS can save patient lives over the next ten years.

CVD is largely preventable and early detection and treatment of CVD can help patients live longer, healthier lives. Where individuals are identified with high risk conditions or at risk of high risk conditions, appropriate preventative treatments should be offered in a timely way.

Attend2 Lipids

Attend2 Lipids is a clinical platform developed by Interface Clinical services, an IQVIA business that can be used to support the management of patients with CVD or those patients at risk of CVD.

Attend2 Lipids is underpinned by national guidelines (including the AAC Summary of National Guidance for Lipid Management for Primary and Secondary Prevention of CVD & NICE NG238) and is used to identify patients who may benefit from a review of their current management strategy.

Attend2 Lipids supports practices by assessing the practice population and stratifying appropriate patients according to risk factors, lipid profiles, concordance and co-morbidities.

This process allows action plans to be generated, clinical work to be implemented and improvements measured as part of a quality improvement initiative around lipid management in the context of both primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease
