Interface present at the RCGP conference 2018

For the third year in a row, Interface Clinical Services has presented at the RCGP conference. This year’s focus was bone health, detailing the work completed in the north east region of England throughout 2017.

To address an identified need in the area, Interface partnered with Lindisfarne Health Ltd and the AHSN for the North East and North Cumbria. The overarching aim of this project was to support in the prevention of fragility fractures and improve osteoporosis management across the region.

There were there phases to the project; analysis & stratification, cohort discussion & individual patient assessment and patient consultation alongside practice clinicians.

As a result, over 1,700 patients received an individual assessment and recommendation with over 580 of these recommendations being implemented. This included initiations on bone sparing therapies, DXA scans and treatment holidays.

The poster submitted at the conference is available to read below. Here you’ll find a full write up of the project, the methodology and the project’s key findings.

Manager of the Bone Health Programme for AHSN NENC, Sue Hart commented:

“…Working with Interface Clinical Services has enabled us to do this and greatly improve the bone health for many people within our region by preventing long term problems and associated costs. Due to its success, we now aim to deliver this programme on a national footprint through the whole AHSN network”
