AF is the most common cardiac arrhythmia, affecting more than one million people in the UK. Patients with AF are five times more likely to have a stroke, and when a stroke is related to AF there are increased levels of mortality, morbidity, disability, and longer hospital stays.
The ‘Primary Care Innovation’ award recognises innovative projects in primary care in which best practice has been implemented and built upon, leading to better care for patients. The HSJ Awards 2017 will be held on 22nd November 2017, at the Intercontinental O2 London.
