Interface and Leeds Health and Care Partnership Shortlisted for HSJ Partnership Awards

We are thrilled to announce that Interface Clinical Services, an IQVIA business, has been shortlisted for the prestigious HSJ Partnership Awards in collaboration with Leeds Health and Care Partnership. Our project, which aimed to create efficiencies in the prescribing of Oral Nutritional Supplements (ONS) across Leeds, has been recognised in the category of Best Contribution to Improving the Efficiency of NHS Services.

The HSJ Partnership Awards celebrate outstanding dedication to improving healthcare and effective collaboration with the NHS. Our partnership with Leeds Health and Care Partnership was initiated after inefficiencies in ONS prescribing across Leeds were identified.

Project Highlights

Collaboration Scope: 65 practices across the Integrated Care Board (ICB) participated in the project.

Patient Reviews: 2,540 patients were identified and reviewed in line with NICE and local guidelines.

  • 759 patients had their ONS changed.
  • 74 patients had their ONS stopped.

Impact and Outcomes

The review generated an estimated £397,887 in annual cost savings and significantly increased practice adherence to preferred ONS from 18.8% to 50.13%. Notably, while ONS costs have grown by 16.75% across England, in Leeds, the increase has been limited to just 3.01%. In addition, patient and stakeholder was positive, with patients appreciating the opportunity to discuss their treatment needs.

Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the awards ceremony!
